Complete three or five laps. Brake for the next corner, conserve tyres and fuel, and pit before they run out. A podium advances the four-race cup.
Choose a circuit and tyres. Brake before the corner.

Formula Apex GP is an original open-wheel racing game with eight cars and four original circuits. Switch between a detailed 3D chase/elevated camera and a genuine 2D overhead renderer while keeping exactly the same race, fuel, tyres and positions. The rivals are programmed AI.
Press B or BOX to confirm the stop. A cyan line with arrows guides you towards the right-hand pit lane. The display shows metres to the entry or ENTRY OPEN. The marked entry now also accepts a car that you drive manually into the lane, and a request made just after the finish line before the team box.
In the lane, steering and the 80 km/h limiter guide the car to the red APEX RACING box. The team walks out: wheel guns release the nuts, old tyres come off, fresh tyres go on, nuts are tightened and the jack is lowered. Tyres, fuel, repairs and ERS are restored when the service finishes.
Camera or C cycles through chase, cockpit, onboard halo and elevated views. Cockpit is a real camera inside the same 3D car, with steering wheel, halo and front wheels. Automatic pit-stop camera briefly shows the crew from outside; uncheck it if you want to keep your own perspective. These settings do not restart the race.
Choose a circuit, event and starting tyres. Grand Prix lasts three laps; Endurance lasts five and makes fuel/tyre strategy more important. Practice has no lap limit or opponents. Complete the race distance to receive a classified finish. The four-race cup requires a podium in each round and at least ten active seconds per result.
| Control | Action |
|---|---|
| W / ↑ | Accelerate |
| S / ↓ / Space | Brake |
| A/D / ←/→ | Choose your lane and correct corner drift |
| Shift / E | Deploy ERS while accelerating; braking recharges it faster |
| B / BOX | Request or cancel a pit stop before entering the pit lane |
| P / Enter | Pause / resume; Enter resumes a paused race |
| C | Cycle camera: chase, cockpit, onboard halo and elevated |
The gearbox is automatic. Touch buttons include steering, throttle, brake, ERS, BOX and pause, each at least 48 px. Use View to change between 2D and 3D during the race. In 3D choose Chase or Elevated. Performance graphics disables shadows and lowers resolution.
| Circuit | Character |
|---|---|
| Harbor Grand Prix | City circuit with a long straight and linked technical corners. Read the map before the slow section. |
| Alpine Ring | Fast flowing bends against an alpine backdrop. Avoid overheating the tyres through long turns. |
| Desert Dunes | Long straights and tighter reversals. Engine and brake upgrades help here. |
| Azure Coast | Mixed coastal route with changes of rhythm. Save ERS for the straight after a slow corner. |
The side map shows the entire circuit, all cars, the start/finish line, the yellow pit branch and a highlighted upcoming corner. The corner card gives turn direction, distance and approximate recommended speed. It turns red when your speed is substantially too high. The suggested speed is guidance, not an automatic brake.
| Tyre | Strategy |
|---|---|
| SOFT | Best initial grip, fastest wear. Useful for short stints. |
| MEDIUM | Balanced grip and wear. Good starting choice for learning. |
| HARD | Lower initial grip, slower wear. Useful for endurance. |
| Scoring action | Score |
|---|---|
| Sector crossed | 200 |
| Lap completed | 1,000 |
| Clean lap bonus | 250 |
| Position gained | 150; guarded against repeatedly farming the same rank in one lap |
| Pit service completed and exit | 250, once per lap |
| Finish first / second / third | 4,000 / 2,800 / 2,200 |
| Other classified finish | 1,000 |
Score points measure the race and are never spent. When you finish or retire after at least ten active seconds with a positive score, the shared portal wallet awards 5–50 coins. Separately, final score gives one driving credit per 50 points, capped at 200 credits per run. Example: 2,500 score after 12 active seconds gives 50 portal coins plus 50 upgrade credits; the 2,500 score remains in your record.
Portal coins buy one-race aids: reinforced monocoque costs 60 and adds 50 durability; ERS reserve costs 80 and adds 40 starting charge and capacity. Select them before Start; existing stock is consumed first, missing stock is purchased at the displayed cost. Resuming does not charge again.
| Branch | Effect |
|---|---|
| Power unit | More acceleration and +2.4 m/s top speed per level |
| Aerodynamics | More corner grip and lower ERS consumption |
| Brakes | Stronger braking; shorter braking zones |
| Pit crew | Service falls from 7.5 seconds by 1 s per level, minimum 3.5 s |
Each branch has four levels costing 120, 220, 320 and 420 driving credits. Upgrades use the same credit balance as the other five games but are specific to this monoplaza. They apply at the next race start; a resumed race keeps its original setup.
Formula Apex GP is an original open-wheel game with original cars and fictional circuits.
No. The view selector only changes rendering. You can switch during a race without restarting, losing position or consuming another aid.
This uses arcade track-relative driving with automatic guidance along the circuit. Steering changes your lateral line. Carrying too much speed into a bend pushes you outward: brake and correct your lane. It is not a fully free-driving mechanical simulator.
Tyre wear lowers grip. Driving over the grass or taking a corner above its safe speed accelerates wear and can push the car towards the barriers. A fresh tyre set at a pit stop restores grip.
Follow the cyan route into the right-hand pit lane at the end of the lap. Press B/BOX or drive manually into the marked entry. A late request just after the finish line is also accepted before your box.
Yes. Select the next compound in Pit strategy before entering the lane. The choice locks while the stop is underway.
Yes, this game combines tyre changes, refuelling, repairs and ERS recharge in one service. This is an arcade race rule.
AI cars can request their first stop when fuel or tyre condition falls far enough. They use the lane and stop for service too.
A car with no fuel coasts to a stop and retires. Structure at zero also retires the car. Finish saves earned score and eligible rewards. Avoid this by planning a pit stop.
No. The seven opponents are programmed AI. The race position board is live for that race; the portal leaderboard and lap records are local to this browser.
No. Your existing CarsFreeGames wallet, records and garage remain. Formula upgrades spend the same driving-credit balance but have their own four upgrade branches.
Pause or leave the page after a checkpoint. Resume saved race restores track, laps, fuel, tyres, pit status and rivals. It does not buy or consume the same aids again. Saving is on this browser and domain; there is no cross-device account sync.
Select Cockpit in Camera or press C. Disable automatic pit camera if you want to stay inside the car during service.
